What is the Public Knowledge Workshop?
The Public Knowledge Workshop is a non-profit organization whose mission is to release public information and make it easy for the public to meaningfully engage with the data. We enable analysis and discussion of information that should be open and accessible to the public. This transforms government data into public knowledge and empowers public participation.
The Workshop:
- Incubates the development of free websites and mobile applications, based on open-source software, that make governmental information open and accessible.
- Works with government leaders and Knesset members to increase transparency and liberate additional information.
- Cooperates with organizations, institutions, media and citizens who share its goals.
- Brings together social and Hi-Tech entrepreneurs, developers, designers and editors to incubate its projects.
